Perez welcomes review of oil deregulation law
Energy Secretary Vincent Perez, Jr., today welcomed any move to review
the Oil Deregulation Act "so that the legislators can improve and
correct any flaws in the law."
Briefing media in Malacañang, the Department of Energy (DoE) chief said
he was ready to heed the call of the different public transportation
groups for an evaluation of the existing law on oil deregulation.
Though the issue was not discussed during the Legislative-Executive
Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) meeting this morning in Malacañang,
Perez said that it is important to get the views of the transport sector
so that the legislative department can make the proper actions on the
oil deregulation issue.
"Any review on the oil deregulation law is welcome, it’s good to have
all issues on the table, invite all players to express their feelings
and if they feel that there are certain imperfections in the law, then I
think that’s something the legislators may take up," Perez said.
