Gov't to overcome financial woes - Palace

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is confident of overcoming the nation’s financial problems by presenting comprehensive solutions with the cooperation of the various sectors of society.

Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye revealed this in a press briefing this afternoon when pressed if the President’s lack of official activities today was due to her +12 satisfaction ratings in the latest Social Weather Stations survey, a drop from the previous + 26 rating.

Bunye said the present fiscal situation may have directly affected the satisfaction rating of the President but hastened to add that it is not President Macapagal-Arroyo who is causing the woes of the country.

"In fact, it is the President who is presenting the solutions, a comprehensive solution to the problem and we are confident that with the cooperation of business people, the legislature and the ordinary citizens, we will be able to overcome our financial problems," said Bunye at the Emperor Villa Seafood Restaurant in Binondo, Manila where he tendered a thanksgiving luncheon for the Malacanang Press Corps (MPC).
