A breathtaking portrait of Philippine History will be interpreted by the folk dance masters of the Leyte Dance Theater on June 6, 2005, at 7:30 PM in a “one-night only” performance at the Fashion Institute of Technology’s (FIT) Haft Auditorium, located at 7th Avenue and 27th Street in New York City.
This 12 year-old extraordinaire dance company is composed of young students with innate passion for dance. Dances are choreographed by its Artistic Director Jess de Paz who attended the Joffrey School of Dance and The American Ballet in New York City in 1983. Their indigenous movements are based on the dynamic infusion of western techniques which glosses over the exotic and mystifying fusion of ethno-folk and mimetic actions. This distinctive style is richly envisioned, emotionally stirring and truly riveting for audience to watch!
