NEW YORK --- The Filipino American community and the everyday fashonistas in New York City will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the evolution of Philippine fabrics, when the Consulate General brings the creations of prominent Filipino fashion designers together in an exhibit called “Habi Filipina.”
“We are happy to host the members of the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines who bring the traditional baro’t saya, terno, and barong to new heights,” Consul General Cecilia Rebong said. “We usually feature paintings - but this year being the Centennial of Filipino immigration to the United States, we wanted to do something extra special. The gallery will be full of luscious textiles in that visitors will be able to touch and feel.”

Joining San Diego are couturiers Richard Papa, Edgar Madamba, Ronaldo Arnaldo,Gener Gozum,Tony Cajucom, Delby Bragais,Roland Lirio,Arielle Agasang,John Abul, Jonti Martinez and Raoul Ramirez.
